How God Provides
'What God did for the widow in Elijah's day, he continues to do today for those who fear him. It may not be a miraculous provision, but he does order his providence in such a way that he cares for those who fear him.

God promising provision to those who fear him does raise a question. Does he always provide? Aren't there many instances of Christians starving, particularly in parts of Africa and Asia today? I've sometimes struggled with this question myself.

As we seek answers, we must keep in mind that we will never fully understand the ways of God in a specific situation as Paul wrote, "how unsearchable his decisions and how mysterious his methods." Romans 11:33

We also need to realize that in God's manner of operating today, he uses believers to help supply for the needs of his people who are in dire straits. In fact, 2 Corinthians 8 and 9, the Scriptures most often used to teach principles of Christian giving, were written specifically to address this issue. Christians who had plenty, meeting the needs of those who had little. Rather than questioning God's faithfulness to his promise, we might better question our own faithfulness as stewards of the resources he has given to us.'*

Oh Lord my God you are my Shepherd, and I shall never be in want. I know that you say that surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life. Thank you Lord that I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever because no one is like you. You are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you. I will believe and testify of the truth of your faithfulness. I pray that I can be faithful with the resources you have given to me.

Your love, oh Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Psalm 36:5

Your faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 119:90
