Everyday with God

Everyday with God

May 31, 2021
Dear Readers,

We trust that NorthPoint's Every Day with God devotions have encouraged you to draw near to God during these uncertain and unpredictable days. Our staff and volunteers (thank you Jolene Philo and Rebecca Janni!) have covered a great deal of biblical ground these past 13 months. We've studied the books of Philippians, John, and I Peter, and spent time discovering the attributes of God and the role of the Holy Spirit. Authors Ted Tripp, Tim Keller and Jerry Bridges have lent us wisdom and understanding, and we've examined a variety of the parables of Jesus, learned his words, and observed his prayer life.

Thank you for making these devotions part of your growth as a follower of Jesus! We wanted to let you know that due to summer schedules, our Every Day with God devotions will take a break.

Many of you are familiar with apps that provide a daily electronic devotion. But just in case you might need a few more ideas, here are four great options:

1. YouVersion- YouVersion is the highest-ranked Bible app on iTunes. It’s easy to see why — with a beautiful and intuitive layout and strong study tools, YouVersion will help you keep up in church, share what you’re learning, and study on your own.

2. First 5- These study guides from the First 5 app take your daily Bible study a little deeper. They include daily questions for each passage of Scripture, including reflection that applies to your life. Historical background and context to the culture are also included, with so much more. So instead of scrolling through social media first thing in the morning, why not choose to spend your 'first 5' with God?

3. Crosswalk Devotionals- Find inspiring insights about your faith from some of Christianity's most respected pastors and authors. With over 100 uplifting and affirming devotionals to choose from, you can access enriching insights from your phone or device.

4. Our Daily Bread- You might recognize the name Our Daily Bread from the small booklets available in our connection center. Just like the paper version, the Our Daily Bread app has a quick daily devotional thought for you and a passage of scripture to reflect on, only this one lives on your phone!

Also, be sure to check out the NorthPoint bookstore located in the central foyer.  A number of terrific devotional collections are available. Whatever you choose, just choose something! Don't miss out on these important tools for spiritual growth. Keep looking to Christ and depending on him daily.

Warmly in Christ,
Linda (for all the writers)
