Beliefs

OUR MISSION IS TO
CULTIVATE COMMUNITIES OF GRACE AND TRUTH

Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of NorthPoint Church based on foundational truths taught in the Bible.

The Story of the World

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct, unified, and divine persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all things, holy and infinitely perfect. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God had a plan to create the world in order to reveal himself to his creation. He has revealed this plan for us without error in the Bible. He used people just like you and me to write it. He divinely kept it safe for us to believe and teach until Jesus sets all things right.

Creation

We believe God created Adam and Eve in His image for His glory. Humans, both male and female, were created without sin and given the task of taking care of the created world by creating culture. They were created to be in relationship with God, forever.

Rebellion

When Adam and Eve chose not to believe that God had their best interests in mind, they rebelled, and their sin caused them to fall out of relationship with God. This cut off access to God and broke the perfect, forever relationship. This rebellion not only had consequences for Adam and Eve, but for the rest of creation as well. This is why there is sadness, sorrow, and brokenness in the world.

Rescue

The sadness, sorrow and brokenness wasn't the end of the story, though; God had planned a rescue. That rescue would come in the person of Jesus Christ, born miraculously of a virgin. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead. Now, by his grace, those who believe in Jesus Christ are given eternal life and are granted access to the Father. that is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

Restoration

Jesus Christ is returning one day to perfectly restore creation as it was intended. Those who believe in Him will be in a renewed and perfect relationship with God. He will destroy all evil. Until that day comes, God is using his church, his people, to proclaim and live out the good news of Jesus in our homes, neighborhoods, communities, and workplaces.
